All Terrain Motorcycle Use CVT Technology

If in Indonesia, the CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) technology are widely applied to the automatic scooter variants only, but in the global market the use of CVT technology continues to expand. Currently, CVT technology has begun to be applied to a sport bike that has a large engine capacity.

The main purpose of applying CVT technology in sport motorcycle variant market more broadly. Not only bikers who used to use a manual transmission, but also for consumers who used to ride a motorcycle automatic transmission.

At the world's largest motorcycle exhibition, the 2012 EICMA in Milan last weekend was the premiere debut of "Brutus" and presented at the stands of Pelpi International. This prototype motorcycle was designed by Alessandro Tartarini, a former designer of Lambretta, and son of the founder of Italian motorcycle-maker Italjet. The design of this motorcycle is unique because it includes characters frightening and ferocious like a big muscular man. Its main characteristic is to promote the concept of SUV (sport utility vehicle) motorcycle that is able to crush all-terain (off-road).

Alessandro has not yet declared how much Brutus weighs, but highly-regarded Italian motorcycle magazine Motociclismo reports that it is "less than 220 kg," which we take to mean somewhere in the vicinity of 220 kg (485 lbs).
Brutus 220 kg puts it in the same weight category as the 1,000cc adventure tourers such as the Ducati Multistrada and BMW 1200 GS. (Picture from: http://www.gizmag.com/)
Brutus is a concept motorcycle that is ready to be mass produced and positioned as a SUV two-wheeled character. The "brutal" appearance from Brutus motorcycle is seen from the legs of the extreme which uses off-road tires from Maxxis Bighorn ATV tires, designed to tackle sand, dirt and rocks. The front tire is 6-inches wide and the rear 7.5-inches. Despite the aggressive tread front and back, the bike is rear-wheel drive only (unlike the much older Rokon, which is similar in appearance and two-wheel-drive).
Brutus runs a single cylinder, 45 bhp, DOHC, four-valve, liquid-cooled 750cc engine with electronic fuel injection. (Picture from: http://www.gizmag.com/)
Brutus will be available, according to the press release, with a range of accessories and customizable add-ons, including a sidecar version, a winch, a fire-prevention kit, a generator, and a "snow kit" which is pictured bellow.

This bike was powered by a 750cc, single cylinder, 4-stroke with claimed output of 45 horsepower. It's coupled to a CVT with optional reverse and low gears. Those components are mounted to a beefy high-strentgh steel chassis riding on 14-inch aluminum wheels.  As result Brutus became one innovative breakthrough in the all-terrain two-wheel vehicle. The bike is expected on the market in early 2013 and may offer an optional sidecar and snow treads.

The final version will be sold under the new brandname "Over", and the production model will be made ready in a few months. The design of is outside of all patterns, moving beyond the sterile fashion and current market offerings. The "Over" when defined by its technical characteristics can very well be distinguished as a true SUV (Sport Utility Vehicles) on two-wheels. *** [AUTOBLOG | GIZMAG | OVER | EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | OVI | PIKIRAN RAKYAT 30112012]
