Logic and emotion are often considered to be two things that can never be united. Recent research by investigators thought proves that assumption is correct after they scan the workings of the human brain.
To know that Anthony Jack, a cognitive science researchers from Case Western Reserve University tested the ability of the human brain in processing logic and empathy. He scanned the brains 45 students when faced with the social and physical problems. The scanner can show parts of the brain are active when the human brain to do two activities.
"When the brain is busy empathy, a neural network to analyze the problem to rest. Substitution of this depends on the activity that is being done," he said.

He analogize this condition with an optical illusion when one looks at the special picture. The illusion makes people only get to see the photo as a duck or a rabbit. It was impossible for a person to see the two animals in the same time. Limits on the human sense of sight is called perceptual rivalry.
"Emotion and logic are in two different locations in the brain," he said. According to him, the balance in generating two different regions in the brain is an important step in the healing of psychological diseases such as depression and schizophrenia.

The results of this study can also be applied in leadership at a company. "If a company wants to take a step efficiently, the director takes high analytical capability to generate huge profits," he said. "Without it, the company will lose money."
However, compensation, director cling to reason will lose their sense of empathy. "For example, when he was faced with the choice between using cheap labor or firing hundreds of employees," he said. "The action taken will be less concerned with the human consequences." *** [POPSCI | ANTON WILLIAM | KORAN TEMPO 4046]
