Flickr Introduce Geofences

Flickr introduces geofences, a feature that helps users to manage privacy in the photo that has been geotagged.
Geofences are special locations that deserve their own geo privacy settings. For example, you might want to create a geofence around the your “home” or “school” that only allows “Friends and Family” to see the location of the photos you geotag in that area. So the next time you upload a photo with a geotag in the radius of a geofence, it will follow the default geo privacy you’ve designated for that hotspot. That way, you can easily make sure that only people you trust can see the location of photos taken inside your house or any other sensitive areas while still showing the world exactly where you had those amazing cheese covered duck fat fries.
Through geofences, users can restrict who can view the location data associated with the pictures they have taken in a particular area. To use this service, users simply draw a circle on the map and select a privacy setting for the area.

Users can add up to 10 geofences and set the parameters within a radius of 70-10 kilometers on this photo sharing service. For example, you want to make geofence around the home or school and only certain friends or family are allowed to see the location you have geotagged photos in the area.

So, when you enable the feature and make geofence circle to a radius of 10 kilometers maksimai earlier, every photo taken in the area of "restricted area" will follow the privacy settings that you aimed for that spot.

Thus, you can easily ensure that only people you trust who can see the location of photos taken at home or other sensitive areas.

"Geofences proven commitment to the Flickr photo sharing experience a rich and secure privacy options that give users more flexibility when making geotagging photos," writes Flickr, in a statement yesterday.

Currently, according to Flickr there are more than 300 million images that have been geotagged on the site. *** [RINI KUSTIANI | KORAN TEMPO  3659]
