Little more than a decade after starting the business, Monaco-based company Wally Yachts continues to develop innovative concepts and minimalist luxury at a rate exceeding any other marine design house on the planet. the newest innovation was WallyIsland - a 99 meters (325 feet) "gigayacht" that dwarfs among the most luxurious megayachts and reconceives yacht as a floating private island, a mobile address can be used as a home, entertaining space or even a moving exhibition or performance space.
WallyIsland not the first of a new generation of luxury gigayachts - nor is it the largest. Paul Allen's Octopus, for example, is a 410-foot giant built by Lürssen, and the Sheikh of Dubai.currently owns the world's largest luxury motoryacht at a staggering 525 feet long. A 405-footer by Frank Mulder was even auctioned off recently on eBay. Nevertheless WallyIsland has some unique features.

WallyIsland more like a tankers than its gigayacht brethren, because the area of 1,000 m2 on the main deck and the fact that is has only three upper-level decks rather than the multilevel arrangements typical on others. It is designed this way to add an open entertaining space and allowing a large garden space, and this sort of design also makes the cost of the yacht "competitive," though we would shudder to imagine what "competitive" means in this kind of business. Wally claims it's roughly in line with what you'd pay for a traditional design 200-footer.

WallyIsland main deck can include a large swimming pool and in the room, gardens, tennis or mini soccer field and a helicopter pad required. This includes the bed up to 40 crew and 24 guests as well as the extravagant owner's suite. It holds about three-quarters of a million liters of fuel, and the rear deck holds two 45-foot yacht tender WallyPower, as well as space for several other yachts and watertoys on board.
Interior features of the main saloon, living / dining room, guest accommodation, library, cinema, spa, wellness and fitness, the service and the crew, and the steering/navigation area.
At U.S. $ 200 million (or approx Rp. 1.92 billion), Wally Island is not for common people, but the concept seems to have triggered the bustle in the marine industry, with new designs all the more focused on living comfortably move framed as a boat floating over the island.
It seems that now the naval architectural mold is broken, and has moved beyond the traditional areas, the new purpose-built, holistic design has begun to emerge, especially the works of Wally Yachts, Dutch Docklands Maldives and Italian industrial designer Michele Puzzolante and others. There are many more ideas and concepts that can be developed from this technology now. *** [GIZMAG | WALLY | EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES]
