Lion Attacked Man After The Full Moon

The full moon is considered as the time of werewolves roam and prey on humans. But a study found, a few days after the moon shines the brightest must be aware by humans. Large nocturnal predators, such as African lions, more often attack and kill humans a few days after the full moon. The study, published in the journal PLoS ONE, July 20, 2011 and then, reveals that the danger arose because the lions have to fight harder to catch prey at the bright moon, because the prey could see the arrival of predatory animals. Within 10 days after the full moon, the moon does not rise until shortly after sunset. Anyone who is still outside the house when it was getting dark is the easy target for a lion. "The number of people attacked by lions at dusk surged in the first five days after the full moon," said Craig Packer, author of the study from the University of Minnesota. "The numbers are very striking." More than 1,000 people in southern Tanzania lion attacked between 1988 and 2009. More than two-thirds of the attack is fatal, because the lion's prey. Packer and his team analyzed data on 500 cases of lions attacking humans in Tanzania since 1988, except for cases of unknown time of the incident or the case of a lion hunter. For each attack, the researchers record the time and the month it happened. They found that the effect of moonlight. Attack rate of two to four times higher within 10 days after the full moon than 10 days before the full moon. *** [LIVESCIENCE | KORAN TEMPO 3600]
