Electromagnetic Suspension Mainstay Sports Car

Sports cars today not only have an exotic designs and using high-powered machine that can generate power up to 740 hp at the top, but equipped with sophisticated suspension technology called electromagnetic suspension control system is also called magneto-rheological suspension control system.

The greatness of this suspension technology can be found on the latest products Ferrari, the F12 Berlinetta, or the Audi TT Coupe 2012 is capable of producing a comfortable vehicles driven at every level of speed and road conditions. Audi calls the system adaptive to various road conditions.

Suspension technology that utilizes electromagnetic work is a replacement of the air suspension models are typically used cars of manufactured today. The MagneRide suspension technology system was developed by manufacturer of electronic devices, Delphi. The first version used on the Cadillac Seville STS 2002 production.

Powered by advanced electronic technology, the suspension can react to various conditions of vehicles, both on the road surface differences to shift gears, as well as differences in weight of the vehicle when the car is moving due to the additional weight. Adaptive reaction of the suspension is working within in a matter of milliseconds.

Unlike the conventional suspension technology, electromagnetic shock absorber tube is filled with oil but magneto-rheological fluid filled. Shaped liquid synthetic hydrocarbon oil containing magnetic particles are so small.

Working fluid is active when the power is connected to the coil of the electromagnet and connected with the piston in the tube shock absorbers. The result is a direct magnetic field that makes all the magnetic particles in the oil changed position in a matter of microseconds to produce a fluid that can reduce the ups and downs of the road surface.

Electromagnetic suspension system is equipped with a central controller sends a signal to the coil on each shock absorber. Central controller is connected to sensors monitoring force that monitors the movement of the vehicle body and the wheels so that the resulting suspension damping rate corresponding to the condition of the vehicle.

Electromagnetic suspension system to be the best solution at this time. The suspension is able to provide dynamic driving and damping road surface is very comfortable while providing a more responsive vehicle control.

Ferrari F12 has a weight of 1.525 kg or 70 kg lighter than its predecessor, the Ferrari 599. This F12 car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.1 seconds. Meanwhile, from 0 to 200 km/h only takes 8.5 seconds, with a maximum speed of 340 km/h. Despite greater performance, fuel consumption is claimed to be 30 percent more efficient with the CO2 emissions 350 g/km. *** [OVI | PIKIRAN RAKYAT 18052012]
